Lecture Details

Tuesday, December 2, 2014 - 4:00pm
UA Hillel Foundation

Presenter:

Dr. Robert Mullins

Dr. Robert Mullins will speak about the new excavation at Abel Beth Maacah, a major Canaanite, Aramean and Israelite site just one mile south of the Lebanese border in Israel.  He will discuss exciting new finds including a phenomenal silver hoard containing jewelry and ingots from the Late Bronze Age, the "Gender Agenda" program that combines coursework in gender archaeology and women in ancient Israel with the study of gender in the field, and the "Living Stones" oral history project that interviews people from the pre-1948 Arab village Abil el-Qameh to talk about the site.

Co-sponsored lecture with the Arizona Center for Judaic Studies
